Welcome to the Miniature Horse Club of South Florida (MHCSF) website. This non-profit club is devoted to promoting the wonder and beauty of the American Miniature Horse with shows, demonstrations and exhibitions. The club is open to Miniature Horse owners as well as others who enjoy being involved with this incredible breed of horse.

The club began in June 2001 to provide Miniature Horse owners the opportunity to show and share their horses with the community members of Southern Florida. Since that time, we have grown in numbers to over 150 members, with nearly one third of them below the age of 18. Our club President, Mr. Tony Lopes, has done a tremendous job leading this growth and, along with our Show Managers, has coordinated the expansion of our Coconut Classic Sanctioned Show Series. Hosted at venues such as the Okeechobee Livestock Arena and the South Florida Fairgrounds, these shows have attracted exhibitors from the local area and from as far away as New England and Canada. Spectators have flocked to our shows as our reputation for a professional and exciting presentation has spread.

The MHCSF plans to continue to build on our success and invites you to join with us in celebrating the joy of the American Miniature Horse. By joining us, you will be helping to promote better public awareness of our breed and you will be directly contributing to the little horses well being. Remember, you don't need to own a miniature horse to become a member---there is plenty to do for non-owning enthusiasts, too!

We encourage anyone interested in this delightful breed to join the club, meet the other members, and learn more about the small equines we adore. Help us demonstrate the quality of the American Miniature Horse by assisting at shows or events, lead horses in a parade, talk about the breed with fascinated passersby at a horse park or take a cart ride through the countryside. Watch for our exciting "Coconut Classic" shows, a three judge, weekend-long event consisting of an all-day, sanctioned AMHR show, and an all-day, sanctioned AMHA show, which we conduct five times throughout the year.
